VOICE Welcomes UT Dallas as President Moghe Joins President’s Advisory Council

IRVINE, CA. — The University of Texas at Dallas is joining Voice of Intercollegiate Esports (VOICE) to help advance the growth and governance of collegiate esports nationwide. Thepartnership brings one of the country’s fastest-rising esports programs, home to one of the largest collegiate gaming facilities in the United States, into VOICE’s national convenings of university leaders working to shape the futureof competitive gaming in higher education.

“The rapid rise in our esports program comes from a very intentional focus on innovation and student engagement,” said UT Dallas President Prabhas V. Moghe. “We are proud to join the national esports advisory council and contribute to the building of collegiate esports, toward a vibrant future for the ecosystem and community of competitive gaming.”

Since launching its esports program in 2018, UT Dallas has quickly established itself among the premier collegiate esports institutions in the nation. The program has captured two national championships and was recognized as a top-10 collegiate esports program by Best Colleges in 2022.

The university’s competitive success is matched by a significant investment in infrastructure. In early 2025, UT Dallas opened Comets LANding, home to one of the newest, largestand most state-of-the-art gaming facilities in the US spanning approximately 16,000 square feet. The center houses more than 100 high-performance PCs, a dedicated esports arena, a full-scale broadcast and production suite for streaming on Twitch and YouTube, private team rooms, casual gaming spaces with PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo consoles, and an outdoor green space featuring a 304-inch viewing screen. The facility is designed to serve the entire campus community, from varsity competitors to casual players building connections through gaming.

Beyond varsity competition, UT Dallas has embraced esports as a vehicle for community building and student development. The program offers hands-on opportunities in broadcast production, facility management, and content creation, and hosts summer camps for young gamers ages 7–15, introducing the next generation to the possibilities of collegiate gaming.

“UT Dallas has built something truly remarkable in a very short time. A program that combines top competition with a world-class facility and a deep commitment to student life,”said Jesse Bodony, Executive Director of VOICE. “President Moghe’s vision for esports as a pillar of innovation and engagement is exactly the kind of institutional leadership that strengthens our collective work. We’re excited to welcome UT Dallas and look forward to their contributions to our national conversation.”
